Overall Feedback

I've played over 400 hours of PoE 2 and I've played all classes except Warrior. I have about 200 hours in PoE 1 and that mostly accumulated after PoE 2 was released. I did play the PoE 1 campaign prior to PoE 2 releasing. Full disclosure, I am not an expert at PoE or ARPGs. I am a classic D2 player and played Diablo III, Diablo IV, Grim Dawn, and Last Epoch.

Skill Gems
I prefer leveling skill gems in PoE 1. A lot of player power can’t be acquired just by killing more monsters; it also depends on the RNG of higher-level skill gem drops. Furthermore, this makes trying new builds difficult during the campaign. I very much wanted to just attempt a build myself each new league, but I fear that I won't have enough gems or a way to acquire them if I mess something up (which is often).

Please allow me to craft skills from my stash directly in the character skills menu. I hate having to go back to my stash to click an uncut gem to add a support. I should be able to do this from my character's gem menu when I am in town. It's even worse when you click a level 3 support and realize the support you want is level 4. Something just feels off here and feels extra clunky.

Please, please, please prefer already cut supports or gems of the same level that are already in my stash before creating yet another copy. I have at least 100 "Magnified Area I" this league since I forget I already have one in my stash.

Campaign

I only have a few notes here. Some areas are way too large. Specifically, Act III and some in Act IV. I think either movement skills need added or the areas need to be a bit smaller. I am mostly talking about the areas where you go through an insanely large area to find yet another large area to search through to get to the boss.

Otherwise, the campaign is amazing. I love the story and the progression through the story line is in a really great state. I played 5 characters in 0.4 and I didn't once feel the campaign was too long. Also, the Act IV boat concept is one of my favorite things about going through Act IV.

Trade
• Let me copy my existing item into the trade menu so I can add/remove stats.
• Let me copy the item stats without having to go into the seller's hideout. The PoE 1 website already lets you do this.
Async trade 10/10.

Exit Light Radius
The exit light radius feels too limited compared to PoE 1. For example, It's entirely possible for me to find the exit checkpoint and not see the exit light up on the mini map or overlay map. This sometimes causes me to keep searching for the exit despite already finding its checkpoint. In PoE 1, this shows up when you are so far away. I basically just want the light radius for exits, bonus content, etc copied from PoE 1. I truly think people wouldn't feel like the maps were so big if they knew where the exits were similar to how PoE 1 surfaces them including bonus content in Maps.

Checkpoints
These are a band-aid due to poor movement skills and lack of a good light radius showing content and exits. They shouldn't be necessary and we should be given better movement skills instead. Sprinting is a good addition, to be clear, and I think it helped. Checkpoints are also inconsistent on various end game maps. Nothing feels worse than dying and realizing the checkpoint was all the way across the map. In PoE 1, you are able to quickly put portals down as a "checkpoint".

Portals
I would just remove the portal animation. The portal animation feels unnecessary and often just adds extra delay.

The Well
Can't we just get our charges back when we enter town like PoE 1? The well just feels like busy work.

Attack Skills
These feel really really good. No notes here.

Casting Skills
I think we need more ways to increase the damage outside of skill gem levels and increased phys. Attack skills have flat increases which allow more incremental increases over the course of the campaign. Casting skills do not have that same feel.

Charges
Give us more ways to get and spend charges. Some of the ways to get charges in PoE 2 are really clunky, which results in less charge usage in the endgame since a lot of people want to blast through maps.

Remnants/Elemental Infusion
Remove these and have them generate various charges instead. This will make the game way more flexible to having a casting warrior since all the remnant nodes are on the north end of the tree.

Passive Tree
More life and more Crit clusters. As it stands, no one can stack life and no other class has as easy access to Crit other than Monk. I know there are some, but most builds path over to the Monk area for Crit or use the From Nothing jewel to allocate without being connected.

I miss masteries. This allowed for some pretty good power on the passive tree and I sometimes with PoE 2 would add that. It also makes the tree more dynamic as you can allocate 1 of N skills from any of the X Mastery nodes.

Expedition
Can we get the expedition locker or a stash tab for the drops?

Stash Tabs
Fix affinity for splinters. They end up going to my fragment tab instead of the ritual tab or delirium tab for example.

Endgame
Y'all are already working on this, so no notes here yet.

+1:

Armour means not much, because the character screen lies about estimated DR, and doesn't tell you how it really works.

Evasion means not much, because again, the character screen lies about the estimation AND doesn't tell you that the game FORCES hits to happen to ensure you don't dodge too many times in a row.

Trials suck because Sekhema trial takes sooooo long to complete for the average player, and Chaos trial has so few modifiers that you're almost always going to end up bricking by trial 8. Chaos trial is fun at 7 or less trials. I have thoroughly enjoyed running lower level trials with 4 trials (other than getting 100-0'd by wind shitter). Sekhema needs less rooms or smaller rooms per trial. Right now it just takes an insane amount of time to complete trial 4, especially with one death meaning you completely restart the shit.

Currency sucks ass because a casual player doesn't get any to craft, and the streamers/youtubers/no lifers get shit tons. This causes the community to feel like they're all playing wrong or just extremely unlucky because everything we see is people with tons of currency and showing how to "EASILY CRAFT X ITEM". I literally cannot stand watching POE2 on YouTube anymore because it just enrages me.

Visual clutter is insane in this game, and I cannot see what's happening over half the time, no matter what class I'm playing. I really don't know how to solve this issue because we all want powerful flashy characters, but the not the clutter. I STILL think the camera should be zoomed out by like 10% more or so, at LEAST in bosses FFS.

XP loss should only be for XP in that map, or some form of that. LOVE losing 50% exp at lvl 92 on one map because of some BS.

IDK what the community on average plays like, but as someone who plays about 2 hours a day (and this seems excessive to me), I CANNOT keep up with any of it. I cannot get the proper currency to play this game. I STILL haven't ever made it to arbiter of ash, or ever will get to atziri either now. This game is built for no lifers, and has lost the casuals it seems to have originally aimed for. What happened to the slower game pace? Why is every video of this game people blowing up their monitors with spells and zooming maps/pinnacle bosses? Meanwhile, I take 5 minutes to kill a boss no matter what I do.
