Dear Grinding Gear Games Development Team,
Greetings! As a dedicated player of the Path of Exile series and an enthusiast of Diablo-like loot-based games, I previously worked as a Lenovo engineer and participated in the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games project. I have long been passionate about the technical architecture and gameplay design of video games, and Path of Exile 2 has always stood out as a benchmark in its genre, thanks to its in-depth mechanics, high-freedom Build (BD) customization, and authentic interpretation of loot-driven gameplay. From the original game to its sequel, I have witnessed your team's perseverance and breakthroughs in gameplay innovation and balance adjustments. I particularly admire your courage in turning around the game's reputation through mechanical optimizations in Version 0.3.0, and I fully endorse your commitment to "free looting" as the core gameplay. I am writing to share feedback and suggestions on the current league's gameplay, equipment system, and team mechanics based on my personal experience, hoping to offer valuable insights for the game's continuous improvement. First, I would like to provide feedback on the Temple gameplay in the current league. This gameplay has severely disrupted the in-game currency system, triggering rampant inflation. The value of numerous core currencies has plummeted, which not only undermines the stability of the equipment trading market but also diminishes players' sense of accomplishment from progressing through looting and crafting. Consequently, many veteran players have opted to take a break from the league. As a loot-based game, its core strength lies in "controllability and certainty," making the stability of the currency system critical to retaining players. I sincerely urge your team to re-evaluate the Temple gameplay's mechanical design in future leagues or adjust its reward logic to prevent similar economic imbalances. Second, I propose adding a set item system, drawing inspiration from Diablo II's iconic set mechanics that fostered clear goals and distinct class identities. My specific suggestion is to design exclusive top-tier sets for each class and Ascendancy in Path of Exile 2. Each set would consist of 10 pieces of equipment (excluding Amulets), with differentiated attribute bonuses tailored to the core positioning and Ascendancy traits of each class to enhance build uniqueness. Set pieces could be distributed across endgame contents such as Apex of Flames, Ultimate Abyss, Twisted Realm, as well as the loot pools of various Trial dungeons and ultimate story bosses, encouraging players to explore all in-game features. Referencing the difficulty grading system of "Domain Gateway," set attributes could be tiered-higher-difficulty dungeons would drop set items with more powerful bonuses, motivating players to repeatedly challenge, refine their talent builds, and optimize combat strategies. This would infuse purpose into the looting process, highlight the game's core appeal of free build customization, and align with the original design philosophy of "progressing through strategy and skill." Finally, I wish to focus on optimizing the team gameplay. While Path of Exile 2 supports 6-player online cooperation-a feature that should serve as a core social highlight-the actual team experience suffers from significant flaws, leading most players to prefer solo play. For one, early-game teaming only increases monster difficulty without offering the class complementarity common in traditional multiplayer games. There are no basic auxiliary functions like healing or taunting, nor can players reduce survival pressure through class collaboration. For another, late-game auxiliary classes are extremely limited, with only Aura Supports being viable. Players team up merely for higher drop rates rather than tactical coordination, and skill conflicts (e.g., a Warrior's Shield Wall Explosion being disrupted by teammates' Lightning or Frost skills) further hinder damage dealers' performance. Additionally, existing gameplay lacks content that requires multiplayer cooperation, failing to support the team mode effectively. To address these issues, I suggest launching exclusive team-focused gameplay each new league. For example, introduce ultimate dungeons accessible only to teams, adopting a division-of-labor mechanism similar to "Rifts" where players take on roles like Tank, Damage Dealer, and Support to clear the dungeon through coordinated strategies. Alternatively, add physical or magical immunity to certain bosses, forcing players to collaborate across different build types and emphasizing the value of class complementarity. Simultaneously, optimize early-game team mechanics by adding basic auxiliary skills or team bonuses to make the novice team experience more engaging, truly realizing the goal of "enhancing gameplay through multiplayer cooperation." I fully understand that game design and mechanical adjustments are complex systemic projects, requiring careful balance between gameplay balance, technical feasibility, and the diverse needs of the player base. These suggestions stem from my genuine experience and expectations as a dedicated player, and I acknowledge they may not cover all aspects of game development. However, I firmly believe that with your team's professional expertise and commitment to player feedback, you will continue to refine the gameplay experience while upholding the game's core charm, solidifying Path of Exile 2's position as a benchmark in the loot-based game genre. Thank you for staying true to your original vision and delivering such a high-quality game. I look forward to witnessing Path of Exile 2's ongoing evolution and will remain a loyal player through future leagues. Wish you all smooth work and good health! Sincerely, A Dedicated Path of Exile 2 Player China Server ID: Ni Ge Da Ye#4929 Dernier bump le 23 janv. 2026 à 06:04:25
