Frustration and personal Opinions
|
I don't really know who to send this to or if it will even be read. I've been playing POE since POE 1 when it had 3 acts and crap graphics and a small budget. I have spent thousands on POE and have supported GGG from the beginning. POE 2 is an impressive game so far, but there are some things that make it to where I can't love poe2 like I did poe1 and maybe that's by design, if it is, its poor design imo. I'm not what people would call a pro POE player, I'm the average player who loves POE, and I'm frustrated. This isn't to bash the game, I love the game, I just don't love it as much as POE 1 in its current state.
Endgame Feeling I'm not a fan of the endgame in poe2 so far. The first reason being is how currency works. I miss using augmentation orbs to reroll for better map modifiers, now you are stuck with modifiers you can't use and the way stones becomes useless if the character can't run said modifier, its either go make a character who can run it or just corrupt and hope for the best, it feels like I'm wasting way stones due to so many negative modifiers and not being able to reroll modifiers on a way stones to make them more favorable to whatever build I'm running. The average player doesn't have time to waste farming way stones and losing half of them cause they are unusable due to not being able to reroll modifiers. Tiers of currency Why, just why are there 3 tiers of the same damn currency. The market price makes it ridiculous to try and actually get the tier 3, unless your someone who has time to run the amount of maps u would need to run to even have a shot at creating something good. Nothing to me feels fluid when it comes to currency, I feel stuck and that's not a feeling I had in POE 1. You need an absurd amount of currency to do almost anything towards endgame when trying to create items to even be able to keep up with the difficulty in endgame. I get innovating and wanting to try new things, but the current way currency is in POE 2 for me is a turn off and frustrating. On a side note, I do like the way omens work but yet again good luck actually finding the ones u need and fat chance of using the market to get what u need due to how high all the ratio values are. The average player is just screwed imo and yet again not a feeling I had in POE 1. Endgame Map Bosses The only thing I have to say about the boss's fights is how imbalanced they are. Some bosses just roll over and die with almost no fight what so ever and other bosses seem to wipe the floor with you no matter the build you are running, making it hard to gauge the fight and the mechanics, also causing me to just straight up avoid certain maps for this reason. Endgame map The endgame map concept is good in concept but for me u spend most of your time lost or searching , even with bookmarks it's just a wide-open mess of the same stuff, more is not always better. This might be personal preference but I prefer POE 1 endgame map that resets every season, you get your maps done and then grip endgame bosses, to me it was perfect. Also the endgame atlas passive tree is terrible on all fronts, but I have heard that will be fixed or changed so no grips on that, ill wait and see how that ends up in later content releases. Class Builds No matter what build I go with or how much time, money, currency, energy and love I put into a character, the builds don't feel like world enders. I don't get that sense in poe2 that I did in poe1 when I entered a map and knew I'm about to reck shit. This might be due to not being able to reroll map modifiers on way stones, and I'm just stuck running to many negative modifiers that go against my build. I don't feel powerful, it's like you have moments of being powerful then your back to wondering why I'm not playing poe1, it's a slog and a painful slog at that. You used to not need a lot to build amazing builds in poe1, now it seems you have to have an absurd amount of resources to create items to just keep you in the game, not make you powerful , just making you struggle enough to hang around. I feel frustrated most of the time and that is a new feeling when it comes to POE. Trials of frustration as I like to call them I hate and I mean hate the trial of chaos and Sikahema, please just bring back the labyrinth. I've had to delete several characters because I don't want to run all 4 of the trials to reset my ascendancy. Things change and builds change, you need a quick way to change them like in poe1, just run a regular lab and boom done 10 mins your on to making a new build and have new options. If you have a fully unlocked ascendancy with all points, you are locked into running the entire thing to switch to a new one, beyond time consuming and dumb. It's a turn off and frustrating. POE Market The only grip is that people post things for sale and never respond when u message them, over and over and over again. There needs to be some type of checks and balances for posting items for trade. They are online yet no response, AFK I understand. If you aren't ever going to respond why post the item for trade to begin with, I mean it's terrible compared to poe1 the lack of responses when it comes to trading. You want to buy an item for 100 divine, tuff shit cause the guy won't respond and he's also the one who has all of said item in the trades. Posted for trading but never any responses. POE 1 wasn't like this, not even close. Mirror Of kalandra Personal grip, means nothing really, more for humor, but how the hell have I played POE since 2013 and never found a damn mirror, I mean seriously. I played with a friend who didn't really know much about the game, and his dumb ass found one within 3 weeks of playing the game, I have played for over 13 years and nothing. All the grinding, all the late nights and hopes, NOTHING damn it lol. I think that's about all I can think of. I'm just a regular guy with regular guy opinions. I don't know how pro players feel, but I'm just speaking for the common player. This wasn't about bashing the game like I said, I love the game, just not anywhere as much as poe1 in its current state, hope with more patches and releases thing will sooth out. Trials of bullshit
What is the point of armour? I mean really. Ran a level 76 trials of chaos with a level 85 Titan, my titan has 90% armour, so 90% dmg reduction with about 75% elemental dmg reduction and maxed out resistances including chaos, just to get one shotted by the trailmaster? WTF is the point of armour if it doesn't do shit. ES is apparently the only viable defense in the fucking game. hell, my blood mage with no defenses other the ES can tank multiple hits from the trialmaster no problem, so yeah this game is so fucking unbalanced its a joke. |

+1:
Armour means not much, because the character screen lies about estimated DR, and doesn't tell you how it really works. Evasion means not much, because again, the character screen lies about the estimation AND doesn't tell you that the game FORCES hits to happen to ensure you don't dodge too many times in a row. Trials suck because Sekhema trial takes sooooo long to complete for the average player, and Chaos trial has so few modifiers that you're almost always going to end up bricking by trial 8. Chaos trial is fun at 7 or less trials. I have thoroughly enjoyed running lower level trials with 4 trials (other than getting 100-0'd by wind shitter). Sekhema needs less rooms or smaller rooms per trial. Right now it just takes an insane amount of time to complete trial 4, especially with one death meaning you completely restart the shit. Currency sucks ass because a casual player doesn't get any to craft, and the streamers/youtubers/no lifers get shit tons. This causes the community to feel like they're all playing wrong or just extremely unlucky because everything we see is people with tons of currency and showing how to "EASILY CRAFT X ITEM". I literally cannot stand watching POE2 on YouTube anymore because it just enrages me. Visual clutter is insane in this game, and I cannot see what's happening over half the time, no matter what class I'm playing. I really don't know how to solve this issue because we all want powerful flashy characters, but the not the clutter. I STILL think the camera should be zoomed out by like 10% more or so, at LEAST in bosses FFS. XP loss should only be for XP in that map, or some form of that. LOVE losing 50% exp at lvl 92 on one map because of some BS. IDK what the community on average plays like, but as someone who plays about 2 hours a day (and this seems excessive to me), I CANNOT keep up with any of it. I cannot get the proper currency to play this game. I STILL haven't ever made it to arbiter of ash, or ever will get to atziri either now. This game is built for no lifers, and has lost the casuals it seems to have originally aimed for. What happened to the slower game pace? Why is every video of this game people blowing up their monitors with spells and zooming maps/pinnacle bosses? Meanwhile, I take 5 minutes to kill a boss no matter what I do. |

" Atziri is pretty easy, as bosses go. She has low life compared to other level 80 bosses. If you can beat the Architect quickly, you can beat Atziri. Just build a path straight to her; don't worry about building the temple. I play between 30 min and 90 min a day, and I've killed her twice, and killed the Architect a lot. 0.4 SSF: Gemling Minions: https://poe.ninja/poe2/profile/DistributedAutomaton-5739/character/CrystalController

Atziri was fairly easy in a low 30 room temple. Arbiter, well if they ever fix it it might be ok with a strong build, right now its a waste of time and currency.
The trails are a pain. I bought runs, cause f this. I hated the Lab in POE1, but suffered thru it, Sekhema is just crap, no thanks. Currency is polluted. Just more time sink. XP from 92-100 are a joke. Why is reaching max level something that is only for no lifers archivable? Its max level, nothing else. Kind of sad if this is a time sink in a game, means that Dev's do not believe they have enough to keep people playing? I bought 2 packs as i did in POE1, since i had somewhat fun. Reaching 92 with my toon and experience more and more bugs and unfun mechanics i wish i could refund them... But hey, early access right? Maybe it gets better? oO |

" Considering we are already past one year of EA - we gotta wait several more years to get something good most likely |

Been playing this game for over a year and agree with all the feedback here. The game has made some good incremental improvements like in trade or breach splinters or towers. But other areas, massive step backwards like nerfing a lot of builds rather than bringing up builds to the same level, locking tablet crafting behind aribter, etc.

" +1 I do think the arbiter boss fight is just too unintuitive for casuals, It legit took me 2 hours to piece together how tf I was suppost to survive his second phase massive laser beam attack, legit spawns 1 safe zone, AND SHOOTS IT WITH A MASSIVE LASER, I thought you hand to stand on the very edge of the safe spot, every time I died, I couldn't make sense of it, and I do not consider myself a casual player, Finally after 2 hours of death, I looked up a video of someone fighting it Then I saw him jumping into that lazer beam after it was fired, How the fuck was I suppost to know that? its a damn laser who the fuck is gonna jump into it???? just piece together Ohhh ya I just jump into THAT GIANT LAZER????? THEN FOR HIM TO STILL HAVE 2 MORE BS PHASES IN THAT SAFE ZONE >:((((((( Arbiter took me 3.3 hours the first try, was level 93, made alot of minor improvements to build, levelled from 93 to 95, went back to try arbiter again just to see how much I improved with gear/respec and insta'd his first phase, 2nd phase was almost an insta kill just did a dumb phase xD Luckily first try I got one of the scepters worth 10 div so I wasn't too mad but 3.3 hours..... Arbiter himself is not hard to kill at all, What's hard is the entire fight, a fight you don't know what to expect unless youve seen a video, and piecing together each phase takes a long time, figuring out piecing things together, it takes so many attempts hence why you have infinite, but still it was so unclear and in my opinion just not fair, like all his phases are RNG, some phases I get killed like when he drops the fire ball and continues doing different phases while you have to worry about the fireball?? No casual is gonna sit through that, and sadly rare tablets and 3 tablets are needed to see any potential good valuable drops Its shit like that, that's straight bullshit, and the game needs to make it clear what the fuck is suppost to be done, sadly the game does not help the player what so ever, you have to discover for yourself or watch alot of videos, and still so much information is unclear.... " Imagine before the fragments were all the same and you only had 3 or 4 tries at T1. At least now it's infinte but yeah I agree. First time I was doing Zokkara and I had no idea I was suppose to collect all the hourglasses and took me 3-4 seconds to react and start grabbing them. I also only had like 20% MS so I basically died and lost. So no mechanics explained and wasted 1 hour of my time for nothing. Can't believe ascendency is locked behind this BS. And now they are locking so much loot potential behind arbiter. Mind you, even finding citadels is pure RNG and can take 50+ maps to collect the fragments. This is one of the worst changes I've seen, to lock so much power behind RNG. Unless they start making some serious changes in 0.5 and start introducing player agency, this is my last league. This game feels more like a Casino than any gambling I've done in-person or online. The odds are worst and the frustrations are 10x. At least in Casino I know I will lose money so I try to have fun. This is just layers and layers of RNG like: 1. Getting loot drop is RNG i.e. items 2. Getting the crafting currency and omens is RNG 3. Slamming the currency + omens to "craft is RNG It's a pure casino each step of the way. |
