Invoker Hand of Chayula Mark questions

Hail.

I've been looking up builds on poe.ninja to see what the top people are running for Flicker Invoker and noticed that most of them are using Hand of Chayula with this setup:

- Freezing Mark, Voltaic Mark, Sniper's Mark
- Rapid Attacks III
- Eternal Mark

However, as far as I know, mobs cannot have more than 1 Mark active at a time (Deadeye had something akin to Whispers of Doom and it got nerfed?).
I've done some testing and only ever seemed to get the Cold Damage buff from Freezing Mark (UI + gameplay effects enforce this) despite shocking the mobs.

So what gives? Am I misunderstanding the Mark mechanic or is there some secret tech/exploit I'm unaware of?

I only ever tested the sniper mark (critical hits).
i noticed sometimes that if the hit that applied the mark was a critical hit, it would instantly consume the mark - so you never visually saw the mark above the monster (but did get the bonus damage)

would need to test to see if there is some kind of greedy marking tech to see if the hit would freeze or shock or crit the enemy, consumes the mark, and then tries to apply the next mark - and if eternal mark allows some kind multi-marking opportunity like this?

i normally would just apply 1 mark and 1 curse with hand of chayula - would be interesting to hear your testing results

*edit - they may have also changed the way marks work - the wording suggests limited 1 marked target - so if all the marks on the same target - maybe that is allowed?

i tried putting the freeze mark and the crit mark together, they dont trigger together. only the first one in the slot.
