The Excavation (post-boss) - 'stuck' in walk sequence

After defeating the boss in the excavation, if you trigger the walk sequence but don't walk down the path you're just stuck in that 'walk mode.' Cannot portal, use checkpoints, cast anything, etc.

It does go back to normal as expected after making it down there to trigger the weapon sequence.
