End game survivability.

So is energy shield the only viable ned game version of survivability in PoE 2? Im trying to run full Armour... getting rocked... Armour/evasion... getting rocked... Should I just run energy shield on every build?

Yeah no clue how they haven’t fixed this in a year. Armor feels like trash

They need to increase more nodes to life for make strength have ability to take % of armor effects elemental/chaos damage, or make strength give 4 life per point.

I don't understand why every attack in the game has to kill me in one shot, I think it's a flaw in the enjoyment of the game.

The armour percentage damage reduction is so misleading in this game.
90% damage reduction only applies if you are getting hit for up to 1% of your armour ie white mobs. A hit that deal 10% of your armour is only reduced by 50% so you really need 50k+ armour to hope to take a hit from a boss. They really need more options to increase life. |

" GGG should change Armour formula to something like "if you get hit for damage equal to your Armour then this damage will be reduced by 50%" (so 10k Armour should reduce 10k hit to 5k for example) and adjust Armour values to that. Yea so I have to second this - right now ES is the only viable pinnacle solution.i won’t run down the stats in my builds but I have massive mitigation and all different holes possible plugged fo my warrior and it still isn’t enough. I shelved my warrior until they fixed armour and moved to my ranger - now at pinnacle with max evasion and deflection and numerous different layers of protection and mitigation both active and passive, and once again I’m down to “respec and regear into a giant pool of ES”. It’s really beginning to discourage me from continuing with the game anymore. I’m now 3 characters in (all around 95, Monk Ranger and Warrior) and I don’t WANT to build all my characters the same, and I have historically played a LOT of casters so I was really enjoying trying some different play styles with poe2, but at the moment my only option for pinnacle is to completely destroy the characters I’ve fine tuned for over 90 levels each and run them into giant ES damage sponges

" Oh they’ve actually changed this apparently - they’ve now put a hard cap on how much mitigation armour can actually provide. Meaning that armour can no longer reduce ANY hit to zero no matter what. So on top of it being literally impossible to survive a bosses slam in many cases, you are now taking constant chip damage from every single enemy. They acknowledge that armour is in a horrible state but then they implement patches that make it even worse on us. |
