Tecrod's Gaze bricked my gloves and build?

Hello,

I just purchased a pair of gloves and socketed Tecrod's gaze into it, and it seems to be not allowing the gear's strength attribute to apply to my character? This bricks the gear and I don't want to destroy it to get the augment back.

Here are my stats without the gloves:


And when I put them on, I get "You cannot use this item. It's stats will be ignored"


Here is a pair of similarly statted gloves that DOES work


Since this is such an expensive item, I REALLY don't wish to extract it or overwrite it. What is going on?

Interestingly, another character I have seems to not have this problem. Not sure why

Only 1 Ancient Augment can be equipped per character. Do you already have one?

... yes. I swapped that one out (it's less important) and that fixed it. Wow I am blind.
