Legacy of the Vaal quest

This quest has been bugged for the last for seasons of this game.
I play co-op and there's always a problem with the soul cores and triggering the event for the boss. Every time I try thsi I have to do it twice, and I try very hard to do it correctly every time and it always messes up.

Edit" to clarify this happens with Xbox and PS5 teamed up. And this time the character doing hte quest couldn't even see the soul cores on the ground. Clearly the quest is saying find the soul cores but they're invisible to that character. And it doesn't help that once you finally return to Alva it takes way too long for the large soul core to show up. That isn't a bug but when you're playing a bugged quest everything feels bad, and it's supenseful to think teh quest messed up again.
