Heart of the Tribe Respawn on Ship

There is a Checkpoint on the shore. Why does it respawn me on the ship and make me go through extra loading screens?

Edit: To clarify this is the first zone of Ngakanu after you disembark from the ship, not the "Heart of the Tribe" interior zone.
