Server Instability When Changing Zones

- This is my second map , so there will be some shader rendering

- Solid 90 FPS all the way through.

- Graph shows everything is stable except Network

- Happens randomly after spawning into a zone

- Creating a new instance fixes it

- It happens to my brother as well who lives across the country

- I have stable internet, gigabit ethernet

I'm showing this as a last resort and to hopefully spread awareness. My assumption is that the servers cannot handle the massive influx of people resetting instances in Holten for the Temple runs. This is causing the handshake when swapping instance servers to fail somehow and lead to this issue.

Is this affecting a lot of people? I've seen maybe 10+ posts about it, but most of the dialogue is concentrated around the economy (understandably). Does anyone have further ideas? I'm considering deleting the shader cache as a long shot.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Specs:

- i9-13900K

- RTX 4080

- 32 GB DDR5

- Gigabit Ethernet

Troubleshooting:

- Grabbed instance server IP from logs

- Trace-route shows no packet loss until about 2 hops from destination (20%)

- No packet loss after instance reset

- Looked up the node owner and in my limited data set it all correlates to the same owner in Dallas, TX

- Changing servers does not fix it, so likely unrelated

- Had few issues playing from 2am - 10 am on Sunday morning

Extra Info:

- I've had similar stutters in PoE1 with my old rig, clearing the cache and setting the shader cache to unlimited fixed the issue.

- I don't think this is a shader problem, strictly because the shader bar is at 0 for quite awhile while massive spikes are happening

- Why isn't this affecting streamers spamming Holten/Temple?

- Is this related to the old server migration where a few accounts were improperly transferred?

- It would explain why only a minority are talking about it

- Users are reporting this across the globe, across console and PC

- The type of internet connection does not seem to matter

- My brother is having the same issue on hotel wifi and a lap top

- It happens in multiplayer and solo

- In multiplayer, being in the same zone, one may lag or both simultaneously, sometimes alternating each zone change to where we can't get in the same zone without one of us having the issue (rare)

If you've read this far, thank you. This is an exasperated post after what was beginning to be a great league.

TLDR: When changing instance servers, the latency spikes until you reset the instance. Is this related to the massive Temple reset shenanigans in Holten? Are there any ways to fix this?

Any questions are welcome.

Thanks

I'm seeing the same thing as well.

-Network will spike from 20ms to 20k ms over and over until I remake an instance.

-Its 100% solid at 20-25ms after that.

-Loading my own hideout has about 90% chance the network issue happens. Loading a map is not counting as loading another instance it seems as the network issues carry into maps if you go in from your hideout while experiencing the issue.

Issues started very recently, absolutely no changes to my hideout were done in that time.
My wife and I are experiencing the exact same issue. We changed to the Washington server and have not had any latency issues yet.
