Please make chat windows accessible for console while dead

It really sucks that we can't access chat if we die on console because I can't communicate with any of my party or friends when I die. I rip'd on a t16 cleansed map and 2 div and a fracture dropped, but I had headhunter on so of course shroud walker ported me in the middle of an abyss with deli. Would be nice if I could have a friend at least come pick it up. Skill issue on my part, but hate to see loot wasted, on top of not being able to communicate with party until I resurrect after the map is complete because I can't access chat while waiting to resurrect.
