Question about about abyss and additional rare monsters from tablet

Hello, how does the table mod additional 1-2 rare monsters spawn from abysses?
The rares come when from the pit or they are around the abyss cracks as normal rares first?
And i guess it counts 1 abyss when you complete all pits, no extra rares from each pit till it is closed?
