Temple room not opening after clearing monsters

Cleared a Prosthetic Research room and was blocked from exiting by the doors denoting I had not killed everything. I had a ballista so checked the entire room for a remaining monster, did not find one. Monster either spawned outside the room or didn't exist.

this has happened to me as well
