Happening to me too. No supports work and just say "This support can't be socketed into this skill." This includes the recommended gems. All the stat requirements are met.

Do you have the attribute requirements for the skill? I had the problem too and needed more. Weirdly the skill is usable without the requirements, but can't be supported.
