Vaal Temple Mechanic
|
I have been trying out the Vaal Temple since the only fun thing in the game got “bug-fixed” and it is an interesting activity. However, it feels like the activity (like many other things in PoE 2) is doing everything it can to make me not want to engage with it.
1. It takes too long to set up the Temple. The only way to speed it up is by throwing away waystones and map nodes, and even then it still takes too long because you have to run around some terribly designed maps. 2. Fighting the Architect and/or Atziri destroys almost all the progress you make on the board. Why is this a thing? 3. A combination of points 1 and 2 makes it very difficult to learn the mechanic. I end up depending on people who play this game for a living just to understand how it works. I should be looking to them for efficient strategies, not the basics. 4. This one is a bit nitpicky, but why is the board slanted? Why isn’t it just vertical? I would like to play more of it, but the idea of doing 36, and eventually 60 maps in a row in order to have a long stretch of uninterrupted Temple play just makes me want to quit the league instead. That was a good read. Thanks for saying it without making it an essay. Here are my thoughts:
1. Agree 2. This is an interesting point. I like this dynamic. I want the board to get half reset at random, and then I get to "solve the puzzle" again. But, I can understand how others might not like it. It's one of those things that's a bug for some people, and a feature for others. 3. True. I think the UI/UX could be improved a lot. Halcyonish did an amazing video on this, called "Path of Exile 2 has a UX Problem". I agree. 4. Fair enough. I like it, but it's pretty subjective. " On point #2, I would prefer it to be a sort of a "tug of war" between the Architect and Us. Make the boss fight a bit more difficult. If he wins he gets to do what he already does now, maybe give him the ability to de-level rooms too. BUT if we win, our designs stay and we get the usual rewards we do now. Atziri remaining the same as she is now I can accept since it makes sense with the story; "The past has already happened. Destabilisation occurs whether you win or lose." #3, Watching the video now and it's on point. Thanks Dernière édition par nbkOken#7917, le 22 déc. 2025 à 20:00:18
