Proposal / Idea Suggestion

I’m not sure where ideas for this game should be posted, but I’d like to share my thoughts as a player who has spent over 600 hours playing ARPGs such as Diablo 1, 2, 3, and 4, as well as Path of Exile 1 & 2 and Last Epoch.

I would like to propose an idea to the Path of Exile 2 development team:
a Gem Crafting System (not Support Gems) — a system that fundamentally changes the core structure of skill gems.

For example, with the current Druid wolf skill, the wolf attacks enemies that are affected by Freeze, and this then triggers an Ice Explosion afterward.
The problem for me is that this forces my character to role-play as an Ice Wolf, which I personally don’t enjoy very much.

Because of this, I thought it would be interesting if there were a gem crafting system that allows players to modify the core behavior of a gem into a different form.
For example, instead of triggering an Ice Explosion, my Druid wolf could attack enemies that are Burning and trigger a Lava or Volcano Explosion instead. This would allow me to build and scale my character as a Fire Wolf, or something similar.

Most importantly, this system could greatly expand gameplay variety for minions as well.
Minions could gain many different variations and mechanics, such as Fire, Lightning, Ice, Poison, Chaos, or other elemental or thematic types — all enabled through a gem crafting system that changes their core structure and behavior.
