Make ground items great (again).

In my 5000 hours POE1 and around 1000 hours POE2 I haven't seen 1 single ground item outside of uniques & currencies ofc that catched my eye.

Where I can say, look this item looks amazing and could fit to 60 - 70 % of the builds as BIS item.

I've surely picked up multiplpe million Rares in both games and they've been OKish at it's best...a high life roll + double res here, decent life + triple res there but nothing special.

And those 2 examples were as rare as certain T0 uniques.

Suggestion: Now that we have AI it's not hard to filter out what stats on items people are searching and even without it's not hard to determine what people are looking for.

And here comes the new item category in play "enlightened rares".

Those come always fully rolled with 6 attributes, as higher the difficulty where you find them as more likely the chance to have the usual "meta mods" on the item based on the data of 1000ts of players (or at least less chance to roll bad mods or mods that dont fit together).

Those items also have a counter of 3 to change 1 affix....means I can chose 1 of the 6 affixes or suffixes and reroll it 3 times without affecting the other rolls.

Doing so by using a Chas Orb, via specific bench craft or creating a brandnew currency for that is up to you.

Atm the best thing to do is simply to ignore most of the rare drops on the ground (or hide it via filter) and that's sad, because at the end of the day rares can be amazing and are BIS in most of the builds.

Make ground rares good please, so people feel excited when a yellow item drops instead of thinking if it's worth to pick up and as they do being disappointed for the millionth time.

Don't need AI for that. Just make items drop identied and then add new loot filter options. Boom. Viable ground drops without even needing to increase drop rates or anything.
