Performance of burning effects is not there

Burning ground + meteor shrine and my FPS dips below 10 even if there aren't any mobs on the screen.

Is there a way to make them less demanding.

Perforance widget tells that it's GPU bound. Otherwise my GPU is barely a bottleneck.
