Devour does not work with Sacrifice

When using Sacrifice, I can target a skeletal minion but I can't devour it. I think it should work from the description.

wolf companions also don't leave a useable dead body on the ground

I thought about using devour with skellies from a sceptre and having sacrifice buff too, but it doesn't work, which doesn't make sense to me
