How to generate/sustain power charges WITHOUT resonance or quarterstaff skills?

Title
Fiance is playing druid and using wyvern. They wish to use the empowered attack from Rend against bosses, but the vast majority of them don't have adds for which they can use Devour to generate the power charges. They are also planning on using Oil Barrage and Flame Breath later which also requires power charges for empowerment. PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds. " There's a like wing based jump back / blow back attack you can use that generates power charges. It's a bit clunky but not too bad once you get the hang of it. It requires getting the boss's stun bar up to a certain point (like ~70%, it'll slightly change color) then using the attack to trigger the stun, at which point you'll get the power charge. I forget the name of the skill but it should be pretty obvious if you read through the druid skills. Be sure to read the skill description in it's entirety. As others have said, until you get access to that skill + oil barrage I'd recommend playing bear or wolf instead. |

" So it relies on heavy stunning bosses. That's a start, but isn't there a diminishing return on building up stuns back to back, making sustain of power charge difficult for Rend, Oil Barrage, and Flame Breath difficult? " Yes. |

" Then it wouldn't be reliable enough to utilize if my fiance wishes to consistently use empowered attacks. PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.

" You asked for ways to generate power charges without quarterstaff or resonance. That’s the only one I’m aware of. I’m not a POE2 professional so there may be others, but I haven’t seen them. That being said, it’s good enough. It let me 1 shot 90% of the bosses in the campaign with oil barrage. I’m working my way through maps and not having issues with any of those bosses either. There were a handful of bosses, mainly those with multiple phases, where it was slightly harder to stun them back to back, but only slightly. Usually a boss took <4 seconds to kill, those multi phase bosses took a whopping 20 seconds to kill, it’s not a big deal. Build into stun a little bit and getting multiple stuns is pretty easy. On 10% of the bosses you have to expend a little bit of effort if she’s dead set on making this build, it’s still pretty easy. If you want to expend 0 effort all the time I’d recommend playing whatever meta build fubgun is currently running. |

I've been theorycrafting this myself. The biggest issue with the stun is probably more cooping inflates the boss' health and stun bars, so its less likely to get Wing Blast for the stun.
Without swapping in a quarterstaff to consume shock for Power Charges (easiest way), I think its up to some Uniques to do the job. Voll's is an armor/es chest that synergizes well with Druid and gives a Power Charge on crit. There's also Breath of the Mountain, a sapphire charm, that grants a power charge every time it activates from taking cold damage. Combine that with the ascendancy path that converts 15% of physical damage taken into 5% of every elemental type, and it SHOULD reliably generate power charges... I think. |

Wyvern is just poorly tuned. You do way too much damage when you have power charges, the bosses barely ever survive a heavy stun window with power charges.
Then unless you do something that isn't wyvern, you are basically just auto attacking to build up stun gauge until you delete the boss. Feast too strong, famine too strong. Nerf the burst of oil barrage, give a better way for wyvern to generate power charges in single target. |
