Unique Ring: Snake Pit not preventing projectile piercing

Item:
Snakepit Pearl Ring.

Expected behavior:
Snakepit Pearl Ring to prevent projectiles from piercing enemies when hit.

Game behavior:
Snakepit Pearl Ring does not prevent skill: frostbolt from piercing enemies when hit. Frost bolt pierces enemies and then forks into multiple projectiles.

Outcome:
Potential damage is reduced due to skill: frostbolt not exploding when hitting an enemy.


EDIT: It would seem that if you have multi-shot support equipped for frostbolt, it makes it that frostbold pierce through enemies. When removed, frostbolt bounces off enemies.

I am not sure if bounces off enemies is the intended behavior tough as I would have expected it to explode like when it touches a wall.
