Can't advance Tavakai boss fight (stuck on minions?)

I beat the first phase of the Tavakai fight and ran to where the wall breaks (I've seen this phase a couple of times...). Instead of walking through the wall and breaking it, he seems to be stuck on my 10 dogs. I can't do anything in this state except quit out, so that's a little frustrating:


Note: Exit to character selection and reloading fixed it without losing progress on the fight.
