Sprint Direction on Ultrawide Monitors Bugged

Sprint direction when playing in any aspect ratio that has black bars causes the direction of sprint to be bugged. The game appears to believe the character is the black bar distance left of the character position.

Sprinting is the only behavior in which I've experienced this. Dodge roll and click to move go to the correct place, but after the dodge roll into sprint, my character will aggressively turn to the new direction.

Sharing an image that will hopefully describe it better than I am. For the direction of the sprint, it will go in the direction of my cursor relative to the point I marked. With the cursor anywhere between my character and the cursor, they will go right instead of left.

Been bugged since the release of sprint. Rhoa build was the only way I could play last patch. Please let me do something else. Thanks

I tried to replicate this behaviour on UWQHD Screen at WQHD resolution with setting fullscreen (windowed mode doesn't show black bars), but without success.

It's not easy to get what you exactly mean, maybe a short video converted to a gif would help.

Anyway it seems you play with mouse + keyboard (WASD?)

Under Options>Interface there is the Option "Confine Mouse to Game Window",

I would try to switch the option, in other games mouse coordinates can be bugged if the mouse is outside of a game window making the game think its at (0,0) or something.
Yes, I play with M+KB. No WASD. In troubleshooting, I reset everything to default. Deleted the config file. Reinstalled. My monitor's native resolution is 5120x1440 and I play at full screen windowed. Confine to mouse window had no effect. I know that's very large, but even tested in windowed mode at various resolutions. Resolutions without black bars do not have this effect. Depending on how large the aspect ratio gets, the black bars will be grow, and the effect will be more or less pronounced.

Sorry, I'm finding it somewhat difficult to describe. I hope the video helps. Pay attention to the direction the character goes immediately after dodge roll. Sprint direction vs roll/move.

So, coordinates if it helps.

I believe the max width at 1440p before black bars are introduced is 3440.

At 5120x1440, it will have 2 black bars of (5120-3440)/2 = 840.

I don't know if the character is perfectly centered in the game, but for the sake of this exercise, I'm treating it as such. That position would be (5120/2,1440/2) = (2560,720).

For dodge roll and basic movement, it seems to calculate it from the standard center point (2560,720).

For sprint however, it seems to calculate it from a point offset left of the center that is the width of the black bars. In my case, (2560-840,720) = (1720,720)

In short, in my demo, standard movement and dodge roll direction are calculated from the (2560,720) position, while sprint direction is calculated from the (1720,720) position.
I experience this issue as well on UWQHD with black bars, however it still happens in windowed mode without black bars.

To reproduce in windowed mode and WASD: have cursor positioned right of the character, hold sprint left just enough to trigger sprint during the roll. This will trigger the "slow down" animation in the direction of the cursor.

Positioning the cursor left and sprinting right will cause the slow down animation to the left. This does not happen when I hold down sprint for a long time.

The behavior is slightly different with windowed fullscreen, hinting at the position offset that Kevin was describing.

Enabling the "Confine Mouse to Game Window" option does not help
