Game is to fast in end-game. "Bullying the weak vs kill a god"

Barely every person loved the core idea of path of exile 2 - with slower, synergy based combat - that's why POE 2 even was created. To provide fun to other players which want something different than just zooming.
"hack n slash" While core of the hns genre as the name differ it from the just general "arpg" which also mean god of war, souls likes and so on. Hack - from hacking/game breaking by using our builds and mechanics to get balance breaking powers mean we should be to strong and anihilate the difficulty. poe 1 and poe 2 For me there's no point to have just two zooming games where everything in end-game is just about holding one button and having as many auras as possible. Automate skills like "cast on" and projectile based core gameplay which always is about "get as many projectiles as possible". Game just simply lack options to make one single "bomb". For example.. imagine fireball really "nuking" the screen in end-game like it's doing in baldurs gate with atomic sound instead of falling 999 performance degrading projectiles. "1 milion crabs to kill a god" One million krab kills should not provide a power to kill the gods - the hns" hack- power greed should be obtainable late in end game and not in early-end game. I think the perfect break will occurr when players gets "to strong" from completing the T14-T15 maps. I wish for less packs with more HP and synergies to matter in end-game. To not break "poe 2 identity". "You don't need to play one build button" We can also say "no one forcing you to play one button build". The issue is: when you have game based on economy you want to progress smoothly to be a part of the economy. There's no other pick than that. Being 100-600% less efficent is not a case to even think about. And i mean.. im not playing builds from internet - im always playing my builds, experimenting and trying my best. Cook two fishes on one fireplace? but.. we have atlas.. Why not to put "configuration" to atlas? and allows zoomers and players who loved the core of poe 2 fun? by just adding one tree side that configures HP of monsters - give monsters 50% more hp, while increasing MF? remaking MF not to fixed rate, but scaling it for this purpose with enemy and dmg values? making fights longer, more meaningful? while still making poe 2 more of poe 2 than making it closer to poe 1 - which this league was about. Power Creep was massive. In my 13 years of experience in poe 1 i never experienced that massive power creep which was to easy to build. for me: I love poe 2 combat, synergies, lvl'ing as no other arpg-hack n slash game. But.. this feel dissapears as fast as i reach end-game and it's not because end-game lack of mechanics or rewards. For me it's just how trival it becomes and how fast we are while there's no balanced difficulty. It's us or they and nothing like campain. I think most of players who loved that core gameplay just quited. Because who will play only campain? and poe 1 zooomers stayed. I can be wrong ofc.. "Power fantasy and meaning of being strong - bullying the weak vs kill a god" all focus should be on balancing poe 2 end-game on poe 2 core synergy gameplay and tuning it to a feel from campaign. While some.. will say "we need to be fast to kill a crab". No we don't.. if you stomp on a ant is "weak" - and we are "weak" when we deal with weak enemies. It's bullying and not a fight. We are strong while dealing with obstacles and not when bullying weaklings. Killing milion of crabs should not be challenge for us. One God of crab? I want to combo.
But it gives you nothing. 1. Values are bad. The time you need to do the combo does not justify the damage increase, compared to clicking something twice. 2. Combo skills do not synergise. You hit with one skill, then with another, but one is cold, the other is physical. And who cares that you did the combo, because the cold nodes give no boost to the physical part. 3. Too conditional uses. "The opponent must be frozen, ignited, bend over and with HP between 10-11%. 4. Too much attention requiring. Does GGG think that I will go plat some maps, and in the next 2 hours I will keep track of my gun heat, so I can combo effectively? I had hopes, that GGG will let us do two button combo to clear magic pack, and there button combo to kill a rare monster. In reality you do your three button combo and you actually lost DPS in the process. |
