Resistance Juggling Feels Bad

When I change one piece of gear with elemental resistance, I have to buy at least two more equipment to shuffle around my resistances. What if gear affixes instead gave you resistance points for you to allocate to your resistances? These points could be reallocated for gold like passive skill points.

Or, you know, harvest bench to swap which elemental resistance is on the item. They literally fixed this in poe1 ages ago but decided to make the same mistake because they want crafting to be a slot machine.
