Dad gamer here. Previous POE 1 enjoyer.
Lots of changes this last patch. Missed the past few iterations of the game. Few things I really take note of I think the devs could look into, maybe others feel the same way. Maybe they don't. Endgame: I won't jump into this sinking boat. They said they wanted to change it for 0.4 so I will trust they have something in mind. Only thing I will say is that alot of builds struggle on certain maps or certain content struggles (Ritual placement in narrow or expeditions) I run t15's 16k ES max'd out res and CI. Something I noticed is that the amount of Projectile slinging mobs gets really out of hand the higher and harder the maps are (scaling packsize ect.) I can't imagine what a melee bro must feel just falling over as they run into a pack of dudes slinging spells and projectiles at them. Just feels different that POE1. Uniques are bad. Like really bad. There are maybe 10-20 good ones that are build defining that see play. There is no point creating new unique's that just end up as chance shards. The inner part of the passive skill try has too many attribute nodes separating zones. Most pathing for builds just shoot to the outside of the tree because of point efficiency. Too many points that cut you off from trying to explore grabbing things on the inner parts of trees. Expecially ones that a circles that zone things hand have a additional 1 to to points in the radius of the circle just to take up more space. Also it doesn't feel like there is enough jewel sockets on the tree anymore. Just how it feels to me. On the same note for jewels not having Resistance on jewels unless it is a corruption implicit feels rough. It was always a early way to fix res and without crafting benches in poe2 it just doesn't make sense to take those away. Crafting: I won't touch this with a 10 foot stick because they stated they have their direction and are sticking to it. What I can tell you is I crafted zero gear. Ever in poe2. Only thing I did this league was slam essence of horrors on boots and pray not to brick something i bought. Non juiced'd maps feel horrid. Juicing maps and having 1 portal make me rage quit and not want to touch the game. I leave it at that, There is enough feedback on portals and gameplay enjoyment. Extra damage as X not being convertible. It might be broken in aspects but this still feels horrible coming from poe 1. I am sure there is a direction and wanting to keep damage numbers manageable and maybe even less processing that servers have to do but just not being able to change the nature of your spells and attacks into something you want is just rough. Feels bad is all I'm saying. Gold: I get needing gold for the merchant system and stuff and it helps prevent bots from being active for free but it still feels horrible for respecing. So many things brick your builds ideas and it costs nearly a million gold to change your whole tree. This is always a struggle trying to develop or change to a build that actually works. Maybe adjust it lower again? or add back in Orbs a regret as a alternative :) Well that is just everything that comes to mind quickly beyond the normal complaints that everyone talks about.
