You tried a new game design philosophy and it has continually fallen on its face... hard.

It's ok, just cut the losses and make the game the PoE1 update it was always intended to be.

Why reinvent the wheel? You're running into the exact same problems as last time and trying multiple bandaids until you inevitably realise the solution was already found.

It's time for yet another "we hear you, we missed the mark, we're so sorry" video and then announce the return to the tried and tested winning formula.

Can't really argue too much here, if something works well after being refined for 10 years, and everybody loves it, why throw it away ?
Agreed. if they REALLY wanted to be different, they would have...put different league mechanics instead of the SAME ONES AS POE 1. Add rifts or something unique. maps again?? Tiers again???

Who TF Cares if the atlas is different?

I'm still playing breach the EXACT same way.
We're still playing ritual the EXACT same way.
WE'RE STILL ADDING DELI ON OUR MAPS FOR MAX JUICE???! W.T.F!

We're still clearing maps the exact same way. whether that's killing all the rares or 1 boss, our goal is still to clear it as fast as possible with, lol, as much rarity as possible KEK, for the best possible loot.

Nothing in this game is actually different, except being worse.

what's ONE new idea that is different and better in regards to endgame? hmm? not a SINGLE new league mechanic?...how about that...actually, the rare monster icons WERE a nice QOL for full clearing purposes, but now they took it away...lol

Pretty much this. They're now in the process of just remaking PoE1 without most of the previous PoE1 league content.
there was never going to be 2 games...at exilecon they said poe will just get new engine and graphics etc and then later they changed their minds and made a new game. i never understood why. poe is already the best ARPG out there but with the new graphics/engine it would be next level
Originally, I wanted a different game. But now, endgame plays so similar to poe1 just give me the updated graphics on poe1. Everything is better in poe1 sans visual fidelity.

If GGG is going to make a different game than poe1. Then revert this patch and keep working on your new ideas. They have issues, sure. But I liked towers and the Infinite Atlas more than an inferior poe1 clone.

even if they revert it they clearly don't have confidence in pursuing their own ideas, and they can 'see them' in full, unlike us seeing only what is currently implemented. falling back onto 'what worked' (which btw didn't work all that well) is more of a remaster project characteristic and not very EA-like.
