Stop Making Softcore Like Hardcore
With the new change we are required to have 6 mods in EVERY map rather than only the tower map. This makes it incredibly unfair if you don't want to play soft hardcore. Please bring back additional portals for all maps and stop limiting us.
GGG, this is not how "souls" games work even though I know you want to make it like them. You have it set up in way that I can't re-attempt anything and I lose my map that was expensive to get setup completely. In a "souls" game that you are trying to emulate, I get to re-try the same way I started the first time. I don't truly lose anything except a little bit of time progressing further. The penalties you have go way beyond that. On top of that we still lose XP. It's absolutely overkill. I don't want to play hardcore mode all the time. I want to chill and blast through maps while also being able to keep up with the currency demands in the game to have fun. The current process is just not fun worrying about dying all the time. If I wanted that then I would play hardcore. Edit: And you can't even re-attempt maps that have powerful bosses. It is completely contradicting the philosophy of overcoming your challenges. A "souls" game is built on being able to try and fail and try and fail until you succeed. If you fail you're just done and that's it. The concept in PoE2 is flawed. Edit2: The biggest problem this creates is also severely limiting build options. Every single build must gravitate towards being a meta build that can handle being tanky and have high DPS. There's no wiggle room anymore for wacky or glass cannon builds. Please just give us 6 portals back or something. Last time I checked failing a map does not delete your character, it is nothing even close to hardcore.

" No you're absolutely not in by any definition of any of those words "required to have 6 mods in every map" and in fact running two tablets in 100% of your nodes is going to result in more rewards over time than you were getting before. You can run two tablets per node now and get more rewards consistently over time than you were before. " Cool this isn't a souls game holy shit for the umpteen millionth time they said they took inspiration from souls games that doesn't mean this is a souls game that doesn't mean they want to build a souls game stop saying this shit oh my god i nheaven. |

" it doesn't in hardcore either because they all 100% quit the game before the character actually dies, just losing a map portal. So it's basically the same thing. |

" Not true. I just tried it, and I was able to run a map with 4 mods just fine. " I actually like this point a lot. I think this points out that PoE2 is not a souls-like. I played "No Rest For The Wicked" recently, and that game really shows what a "souls like" isometric ARPG could be, and I don't think PoE2 can even remotely be that. If that's the type of game you want to play, by all means, please try "No Rest For The Wicked". Moon Studios deserves the recognition. Dernière édition par ac429#4687, le 2 oct. 2025 à 03:23:42
