Convenient Atlas Map Search and Filtering in Path of Exile 2
Problem
Currently, searching for specific maps on the Atlas requires manually hovering over numerous icons. This process is tiring and inefficient, especially when: • A player needs to find a specific type of map (e.g. Ritual, Abyss, Expedition, Silent Caves, etc.). • They want to quickly check whether a unique map is available in their current progression. • They need to verify which maps have already been completed and which remain unfinished. As a result, players spend too much time “scrolling through the Atlas” instead of actually playing. ⸻ Solution Introduce an interactive filter and highlighting system for the Atlas interface. 1. Filtering Menu (on the left side, near tabs): Options available as checkboxes: • Show only available maps • Show unavailable maps • Filter by specific mechanics (Ritual, Abyss, Expedition, etc.) • Filter by unique maps • Filter by incomplete maps • Filter by completed maps 2. Highlighting on the Atlas: • Available maps highlighted in green. • Unavailable maps highlighted in red or gray. • Unique maps outlined in yellow. 3. Auto-Camera Movement: After applying a filter, the camera should automatically move to the nearest matching map. This removes the need for manual searching. 4. Additional Improvements: • Ability to save “Favorite Maps” (e.g. preferred for farming). • Quick search by map name via a text input box. • “Show path to map” option (arrows or highlighted connections to the target). ⸻ Advantages • Increases convenience and saves player time. • Makes the Atlas interface more modern and user-friendly. • Simplifies the search for rare and unique maps. • Preserves the immersive Atlas experience while reducing unnecessary routine. ⸻ Possible Considerations • Filters should not clutter the interface (collapsible/expandable menu would help). • Highlighting should be customizable (toggleable colors). • Auto-camera movement should be smooth to avoid disorientation. • New players could receive a short tutorial tooltip when first opening the filter menu. ⸻ Conclusion This proposal would turn the Atlas into a “Smart Atlas” that helps players quickly find the maps they want without unnecessary frustration. It would make Path of Exile 2 more approachable and less tedious while maintaining its depth and complexity. Dernier bump le 1 oct. 2025 à 09:40:36
