Atlas Tree shouldn't be so oversimplified

A huge part of the fun for me in PoE1 was optimizing my atlas tree for the strat I want to play. In PoE2 I feel like I've been robbed of this for the sake of simplification. Sure, technically I can do whatever content I want with the tablets, but I still feel like I have to run every map with expedition, ritual and breach tablets, and instill the map with delirum because I have skill points in every one of those trees (tbf deli tree doesn't do much for instilled maps but it's free anyway). When more mechanics are added this will get worse.

Instead I want to be able to hyper specialize in a few mechanics and get more out of them, because right now almost every map feels like the same and I don't really have a way of changing that. The only change of pace I can get are overrun by abyss maps, some of the abnormal or unique maps (if they're worth running) and citadels (and main mech content i.e. logbooks, bosses). But even then it feels less like I have control over the strat I'm playing in maps and more like I just happen to be able to get some temporary change to mapping but I have little agency over it.
