Interactions with A button on Controller reversion, please

I don't know why you changed it. But can we please regain the ability to put up a portal and just press "A" to enter it? Why do I have to navigate to highlight it first now. Also, the A prompt has become horrible to try to highlight, for instance, someone standing right in front of the player character. Please please please revert the controller interactions. Why did you ruin it? It was just fine.
