Unfulfilled attribute requirements give unclear gem upgrade results

It's not communicated well enough what will happen when trying to upgrade a skill skill gem to a level you don't fulfill the attribute requirements for.

The result in the game is that a new gem is engraved instead of upgrading the selected gem, which I just learned at the cost of a level 20 uncut spirit gem.
