[Suggestion] Enrich Campaign Experience w/ Small Randomized Cellars
One thing I miss from Diablo 2 and even Diablo 3 to a lesser extent is the small, randomized cellars to sprinkle in some optional content throughout the campaign. Most of the areas in PoE2 are extensive dungeons, and to mix things up, GGG should also consider adding small cellars that would consist of only one or two rooms. As a few examples, cellars may contain the following:
• Mimic's Lair: a cellar contains multiple treasure chests scattered throughout, but only one is real. Opening a fake chest summons a mimic, forcing you to fight your way to the real chest. • Corrupted Burrow: a cellar is overgrown with corrupted, damage-dealing roots that constantly move and try to ensnare you. Destroy the root heart to stop the corruption. • Gem Collector: a cellar where a monster has hoarded a pile of skill gems. Killing the monster drops a variety of skill gems. • Queen's Nest: a cellar is filled with insects. You must kill the insect queen for valuable loot. • Shadowy Merchant: a cellar contains a shadowy merchant. They offer a unique item for sale, but you must fight their boss to prove your worth and earn the right to buy from them.
