If Jonathan Doesn't Want Us To Spend So Much Time In Maps...

Why doesn't he tell us where the ritual circles are? I'm not fucking running around for 10 minutes playing hide and seek with some circles

Then don't do it? I'll do the rituals. Problem solved.
Ritual has always been a cursed mechanic in my opinion.

You either blow up packs of mobs or get demolished in every endgame ritual.

It'd be more fun if it was like a singular giga-rare and his lackeys or some ritual-themed mini-bosses.

As it is now it's AoE-skill spam until the ritual ends. You need to have good hp/es recovery. The only dangerous mechanic is the chaos volatiles, the other ones are mild annoyances. Burrowed mobs make you hate them even more.

I gotta say I don't really "enjoy" ritual - I just do it for the omens. If ritual were to disappear completely and omens just dropped from normal mobs, I'd probably prefer that.

Jup, that's also my problem with Rituals....it's sooo map layout depended and in POE2 we can't chose 1 single layout as in POE1 to run it over and over agin.

This def needs an adjustment, so it compensates map layouts that are bad for Ritual encounters.

Actually a very good idea and fits way better to the Ritual thematic than the current form...+1

I think Ritual is worse in PoE 2 than it has ever been which basically comes down to the Map Design in this game. I don't know why, but the devs really, REALLY like to absolutely clutter every single map in this game, to the point it makes me feel like PoE 2 is the equivalent to an IRL hoarder.

As a result of that, Ritual becomes pretty much unplayable until you have a build that is both very tanky and that can clear screens, and even then it's still extremely dangerous due to the fact that all that clutter and terrible terrain will constantly block your skills.

I feel like they not only need to make changes to Ritual but to the maps in general. They need to get rid of clutter or give us back the PoE 1 map system, because the majority of the maps are unbearable to play.

I want everyone to just run a map and count the times terrain will either block your skills or block your movement. It's extremely common and it gets really tiring really fast.

i really wish that atlas tree allowed such customization. i enjoy Arch Nemesis even tho they kill me unfairly, but i can't stand timed/clear speed content.
Once you get near them, they show up on the map. It's not like it's hard to find them. If you want to run a map's extra content, you have to run the map.

THe issue is a lot of the maps are big and annoying, especially with the slow movement speed of POE 2...

It's hilarious, POE 1 speeds are made for maps like POE 2 size, and POE 2 character speed is ideal for small ass POE 1 maps.

That said the maps are getting smaller. And because no amount of mobs slow most of us down, the mob density makes no difference to anything except experience. So the only way to make it faster is to make it smaller.

I'm running full speed on a rhoa with as much movement speed as HUMANLY possible... And doing all content not doubling back tends to run about 10 minutes if I get an abyss. THta's full speed clearing, no need to slow down, screens blow up before I get there -- and it still takes 10 minutes.

That means maps too big.

I feel like it's also just the amount of clutter that inflates this issue. When you run a map, I want you to count the amount of times you get stuck somewhere or have to slow down because of an obstacle. If you'd take a shot for every time that happens in a big map, you'd die from alcohol poisoning before you finish said map.
