Do not put in the tower change.

"As your tablets are now directly applied to your Maps, this means that you can now apply the content you desire to every single Map"

No, what this means is that you have to put tablets in every map. The complaint is having to put the tablets in a single tower that did a random array of buffing on the horrible ai map that is bugged was tedious. Now we have to do it on every map?

Do not put this change in. Reverse it while you can.

but maybe the tablet will have multiple usages? So if it originally affects 12 maps will become 12 uses?
1. click any map
2. put in waystone
3. click different map
???
4. waystone still there

It probably works the same way with tablets. when you open a map it will reduce the number of uses left. you don't have to take the tablets back in inventory, they will stay in that "stash" so to speak -- next time you click a map they will move with you.

Well as i understood from announcment is that tablets will have multiple uses and if you dont wanna use tablet on map you can remove it and put it back on next map. What im afraid of: they said they will boost affixes by (about tree fiddy? Times) but right now you juice maps with 3-4 towers in total so thats 9-12 tablets for map. So if this is correct the actual juiced map might have its rarity and quantity nerfed 4 times
I think maybe op forgot why the change was brought about in the first place.

Johnathan said in an interview that he understood the issue to be the fact that we (players) feel we have to slog through unrewarding and unwanted map nodes to find overlapping towers, then slog through still unrewarding and unwated map nodes to set up the towers so we have juiced up nodes, and only then we get to play rewarding maps.

So the complaint was never about needing to put tablets in towers, but the forced boring trek through unjuiced nodes before we get to those towers, as well as the fact that any part of the map without overlapping towers feel horrible to slog through.

The change aims to remove that slogging part, and it is only a part of the changes to endgame that they could implement right now, with more changes to come in 4.0.

So whatever we see in 0.3.1, it is a band-aid change to at least reduce some of that annoyance in endgame.

I agree needing to put in tablets every node is a horrible design as well, but it's at least better than having to spend time doing unwanted nodes just because they are in the way, and way better than having large swaths of the Atlas being essentially garbage because there's only one tower.

Personally I wish endgame micro-management on both the waystones and on tablets could be completely overhauled and minimized. We're here to play hack-and-slash, not to play factory assmebly line simulation, assembling waystones and tablets.

No you don't.....you put all 3 tablets into 1 map and they'll appear in the next map aswell as long as you have Tablet charges left.

Nothing will change here in terms of "clicking", so don't worry about your freshly made fingernails. ;)

But the new system comes with many upsides:

You'll never have maps without any bonus content again, every map will now have as many bonus content as you like as long as you put tablets into dedicated tablet slot for maps.

If you fail a map you don't have to rerun the same one in an "empty" state (means without any bonus content), you can restart the same map again with all the bonus content you want (Ofc you lose 1 Tablet charge every time you fail all portals).

If you want to change the bonus content, because you start to dislike Breaches f.e., you can now do so "on the fly".....with the current tower mechanic it's set in stone for all the maps you've buffed.

You don't have to stay in the 2-3 tower areas anymore to juice your maps.....you now can go in a straight line 24/7 if you want and have no downside content juicing vise (Or in every direction you want, you're not limited to only 2-3 tower areas for the best juice).

With the new system you also can run only your favorite Biomes now if you dislike the others, becasue your map juice is not limited to tower positions anymore....so if you like to run only "Grass" biomes and nothing else you now can go for it and run all of them fully juiced no matter theyr position on the map, without having to worry that those aren't inbetween 3 towers.

Juicing maps and searching for Citadels f.e. don't exclude each other anymore, becasue now you're able to fully juice every single map you encounter on the way to the Citadel and you're not limited to stay in 3 tower area for juiced content.

Honestly I had the same concern as the OP initially - having to put tablets into every Map Node sounded fiddly and I assumed once completed they went back into your inventory (or worse still stayed on that node until you retrieve them) meaning you probably end up carrying them around.

However I now see on watching again and thinking about it, that's not the what's happening.

You are not putting Tablets into your Nodes/Waystones/Maps - you are putting Waystones and Tablets into the Map Device.

Then, when you Traverse, it destroys the Waystone to create the map while also activating any Tablets in the device to add their effects while decreasing their remaining uses by 1.

When you reopen the Map Device it will have consumed the Waystone and 1 Use per Tablet but the Tablets will still be in the Map Device, provided they have uses remaining.

I believe this is how it works anyway, and it sounds far better than the previous system. I didn't mind Towers but then I never got that deep into using them.

It's nice that they will give a guaranteed Tablet on completion - makes them optional but still have a unique use. Plus the map reveal will still be nice for those who are trying to explore.

Lots of upsides as the previous post explains. And little if any downside, that I can see.
