new player - don't know bug or doing something wrong - MAPS EXPEDITIONS

Hello everyone,

newer player here. first time reaching end game in the abbyssal league.

I have done a couple of maps and i'm stuck on the grand quest ie, I can't find Dannig. I've read other threads and people suggest to go to a map with an expedition and that the npc can show up there.

However I've now completed a map with expidition emblem and i did not see any npc's in that map. Am I overlooking something here?
