Enemy AI

Monsters just aren't difficult enough. They hit too hard, they have too little hp, and more importantly, their AI is absolutely stupid. After playing Elden Ring blind, and seeing how fun it was to play a hard game, I've come to the conclusion that the term "trash mobs" shouldn't even exist.

People say this game is unbalanced. Look at these archers on their rhoa mounts, for example. Just running in ahead as if they were full tank warriors with a shield and trashing everything. Just one college football kid with a solid tackle could take him down. But monsters do not have that kind of AI. They're all just bloody idiots waiting to get owned. 95% of builds can clear all the game's content with gear that costs like 1 divine each, 2 for the weapon slots. Heck, about 25 % of builds can complete the whole game with a budget of 2 divines in total instead of 12. Gearing up any more than that just makes the game boring.

Do you guys have any plans to make monsters harder?
-Monster diversity per pack, instead of 20 times the same monsters?
-Monsters with nets to catch people
-Smarter AI of monsters trying to surround or lure in trap formations
-Monsters with shields that can block stuff for the rest of their pack
-Monsters with attacks that can't be dodged around ( like a musket bullet instead of a slower arrow )
-Monsters that ambushes way better than these chameleons we see from a mile away.
-Etc, research war strategies of humans and attack - defense tactics from the animal kingdom

We need other ways to make monsters more powerful, other than just making them deal more damage and take less damage. There are a few monsters that fits the bill, like these skeleton shield tanks that reflects a bullet at you when you shoot at them, but there just isn't enough monsters like those in the game. It's just too easy, and would be a great way to balance the game.

I don't understand what you guys all want

A moba? A souls like? Then you need to limit the spells and design enemies around a limited tool kit

Offensive 1
Offensive 2
Special 1
Defensive 1
Support 1
Dodge / Escape

Each character gets a variety of a few (very few) skills to select for each slot and between characters most skills function the same, but have some flavor to distinguish them.

Now you can create enemies that work in accordance to character abilities.

Massive talent tree? Forget about it. It only creates imbalance.
Lots of skills? Forget about it. It only creates imbalance.

Look at V Rising and how they did it. All encounters are engaging and difficult. The character tool kit? Not even 0.01% of what PoE offers you.

Seriously, have you people even considered the game design challenges associated with your "engaging" combat? Do you know how numbers are crunched in game development? How systems interact and depend on each other?

Probably not.

never promised.

no one wants slow combat.

slow combat is boring.

You were never promised that, tourist

Seems like you didn't watch Youtube, tourist.

Go ahead and quote them, then.

Whenever Johnathan mentioned anything like a meaningful combat system, it was a betrayal and not a promise. Evidently so, seeing how the development is unfolding, back to what the game originally was meant to be

That's not true. It's true that the majority of players prefers easy game but there are still some people that likes harder games.

wait what?

0.3 is ultra easy.
In what universe does a real player actually want it to be EVEN easier?
You can't make Poe2 any easier. It's already too easy.
Your argument is confusing. You say no one wants an easier game, when the majority of gamers prefers easy games. You say you want the game to be both harder and faster, but if the game is faster, then it must be easier, where as if the game was harder, the progress would be slower.
The game has performance problems with latency issues (atleast for EU servers) and you guys compile about game. It should be optimisation & network fix before any further. With lag and bad performance game is distasteful.
