Feedback for GGG about Path of Exile 2

First of all, I want to make it clear: I love Path of Exile 2. I have spent a lot of time in the game because I believe in its potential, and I truly want it to succeed. That’s why I feel the need to address several issues that, in my opinion, are holding it back. I will try to keep this structured and to the point. (600 hours)

---

1. Endgame Rewards and Skill Gems

At level 94, running Tier 16 maps, I have not found a single level 20 Skill Gem. Not one.

This makes endgame feel punishing instead of rewarding, because players can’t even fully power up their builds.

Endgame should empower players to maximize their characters, not artificially hold them back.

---

2. Loot vs. Map Tiers and Negative Progression

Running Tier 5 maps currently gives me more and better loot than Tier 15 maps. That makes no sense and removes motivation to push higher-tier content.

On top of that, higher-tier maps carry harsher death penalties (lost maps, lost loot, and heavy EXP loss).

Negative progress is not fun. Losing hours of EXP and items due to one death — often caused by lag — is frustrating, not rewarding. Please reconsider this design philosophy.

---

3. Communication and Bug Reports

One of the things GGG has always been praised for is communication with the community. Right now, that strength feels completely gone.

Players have been reporting bugs for four or five weeks in the forums without even a single acknowledgement.

Even a simple “We are aware of this issue” would go a long way. Silence is damaging trust.

---

4. Maps and Exploration

The “one attempt only” map system is unreasonable. If I die, everything is gone — the loot, the progress, and the map itself. This benefits no one and kills motivation.

Example: I juiced a Tier 16 Silent Cave. In the middle of the map was a huge object; I clicked it, spawned a boss, killed it, and the game instantly marked the map as “completed.” Only afterward did I realize there were many other things to explore and interact with. But because the map ended right there, all of that was lost — and due to the one-attempt system, I may never see that map again.

Endgame should reward exploration, not cut it off prematurely.

---

5. Tier System Clarity

Terms like “T4 scepter” or “T3 armor” are never explained in-game.

Some level of mystery is fine, but the basics need to be communicated. Casual players should at least understand what tiers mean without relying on outside sources.

---

6. Quality of Life: Inspect Feature

Please add an Inspect function to right-click another character and view their gear.

This would help players learn from each other and share ideas, which is vital in a build-heavy game like Path of Exile.

---

7. Music

The soundtrack of Path of Exile 1 was objectively stronger and more atmospheric.

Please consider including those tracks in POE2, or at least give us an option to play them. Music is a big part of immersion, and POE2 feels weaker in that regard.

---

8. Minions and Inconsistency in Balance

Minions were nerfed extremely quickly within the first week of the league. This felt like a knee-jerk reaction.

Meanwhile, universally disliked mechanics such as the Frozen Mandibles’ Frost Aura are still in the game weeks later.

It does no meaningful damage — it just slows and annoys players. Why nerf minions instantly, but leave pointless frustration untouched for so long? The priorities feel wrong here.

---

Final Thoughts

Path of Exile 2 has amazing potential, but right now too much of that potential feels wasted. The game often feels like it punishes players instead of rewarding them. Communication is lacking, progression feels backwards, and certain design choices are unnecessarily frustrating.

I say all of this because I love the game and want it to improve. Please take this feedback seriously. If these issues are addressed, Path of Exile 2 could become one of the greatest ARPGs ever made.
