Concerns About Multi-Account Botting Exploiting Party Loot Mechanics
Dear GGG Team,
First, I want to express my appreciation for the incredible work you've put into Path of Exile 2. The game's depth and complexity have provided countless hours of enjoyment, and I truly value the dedication you show to maintaining its integrity. However, I'm writing to bring attention to a growing issue that's threatening the game's balance: widespread multi-account botting that exploits the current party loot mechanics. As you're aware, the game allows parties of up to 6 players, with each additional member increasing currency and item drop rates by approximately 11% per player—reaching a 51% boost with a full party. This system was clearly designed to encourage cooperative play, but it's being severely abused. Recent observations reveal a significant number of players using input mirroring and multi-client emulators to control entire 6-player parties single-handedly. Crucially, these botters do not bypass the monster scaling that comes with larger parties (normal monsters gain 250% life in 6-player groups) — they still push through this increased difficulty to exploit the full 51% loot bonus. The problem lies in their ability to achieve 6-player rewards with only one person’s effort, letting them accumulate currency and items at a rate exponentially higher than legitimate solo players. What makes this particularly damaging is how it distorts the game's economy. Legitimate players face the same scaled monster health when grouping, but botters eliminate the need for real coordination—turning a system meant for teamwork into a tool for unfair gain. This creates an unbalanced gap where cheaters progress faster and hoard valuable resources through artificial means, while honest players are left at a disadvantage. Importantly, this issue also highlights a misalignment between the party system and Path of Exile 2’s core design. The reality is that most players avoid party mapping not because of scaled difficulty, but because this game is fundamentally a solo-focused ARPG. It centers on personal map clearing, build progression, and individual loot collection—not the party-based, campaign-driven progression of traditional ORPGs. As a result, genuine 6-player parties are extremely rare in endgame mapping, meaning the current loot bonuses primarily benefit cheaters rather than fostering legitimate cooperation. I propose a reevaluation of the party loot scaling system to address this exploit at its source. By adjusting the loot bonus curve—either reducing the multiplicative gains for large parties or implementing diminishing returns that eventually turn negative—you could eliminate the economic incentive for multi-account botting. This change would have minimal impact on legitimate players, as true 6-player groups are already uncommon, and it would preserve fair rewards for small, casual parties. Even if detection systems can’t catch every botter immediately, removing the profitability of this practice would drastically reduce its prevalence. It would ensure that success in Path of Exile 2 remains tied to skill, build strategy, and dedication—not the ability to exploit party mechanics with automated tools. Path of Exile has always stood out for its commitment to fair play and meaningful progression. I believe this adjustment would uphold that legacy and keep the game enjoyable for the honest player base that makes this community great. Thank you for considering this feedback. I’m happy to share specific examples or further observations if needed, and I trust your team’s expertise in addressing issues that threaten the game’s balance. nice AI post
disabling the party play loot buff would be a step in the right direction - they kill so fast anyway, they are double dipping here. Plus they already gain the benefit of hitting exceptional item bases early which sell for quite a few exalts all the way up to multiple divines. |

Yes, the profit of one person playing six characters almost led to the economic collapse of the game. As an ordinary player, I feel a serious sense of unfairness, and there are too many cheaters like this in the game.

Do we have proof that this is more efficient than making the bots run separate instances?
