Shield stats don't show up on character screen.

On Playstation 5 when I pull up the inventory and character screen to see how my stats or resistances are changing while swapping out shields, I'm noticing nothing changes on the character screen. The whole game and console have been off and back on with the same result. I've also made sure not to have a second weapon equipped in the other slot just to make sure.
