I hit a progression wall on maps...any advice? (kinda casual player)

I love this game but currently and previous league happened the same is that I hit a wall on maps where progression becomes slower and slower for me. the good thing is I know the reasons, the problem is I dont know how to fix them.

1. learning all the intricacies of this game is not my priority, so I mostly enjoy and play for killing stuff, and see the power spikes of my character...what I mean is I dont care to learn complex league mechanic interactions and stuff the most I do is expedition which a lot of people claim is not that good.

2. when reaching maps my economy gets stuck really hard...probably because of the same reason learning the economics and stuff is not my top priority, cant figure out prices for gear I dont know which one is worth selling and which one is trash

3. due to 1 and 2, my gear progression gets stuck too...

4. I dont know how to approach maps...should I push as hard as I can for map tiers? should I go at my own pace? last league map progression was kinda easy to understand if you follow the quest line (corrupted nexus), but when I do maps I never get good rewards to get my economy going...should I forget map progression and focus only on league mechanics? but wouldnt it hurt my rewards if I do expedition on low tier?

5. crafting, I think is more or less easy to understand, but I never got enough currency to spend on crafting I wont touch path of building or any of those sites though.

6. when I feel like this I tend to reroll (or when I see a skill with beautiful bright lights), in some cases I reroll a lot or I just stop playing due to boredom and burning out

my fear is the game will only get more complex as it goes further in development

AM I COOKED?

sorry for bad english :S

i don't think there is any complex strats here atm. you start to get really good drops from higher 'difficulty' from atlas points (like + level bosses/logbooks etc) anything else is filler rn
It's very likely some of your issues will be solved with upcoming updates.
Also, game was mostly focused on campaign and not the endgame progression so far, so if you don't want to dive deep into the mechanics and excel sheet planning your build for hours (i personally love it), you may just wait as it seems to be the focus of next steps in the Early Access of the game.

In the meantime, you may try slowly checking different abilities and interactions, just so you have some pool to choose from for your preferred playstyle build.

Most people copy builds of others that work, it is the way to start or to even just play like that as a "casual".

Crafting is a gamble and it is kinda bad in its state atm. It's getting better with each patch.

Economy learning is painful and the Trade via site and handling all the scams is a bad design. GGG is hopefully going to introduce an Auction House sooner or later. Until that, you download an overlay and depend on it's price assessment i guess. I don't use it so i cant recommend one.

Map level is determining monsters level inside. Tier 15 map is level 79 monsters. The more levels you are above the monsters, the less experience you're getting. So it is up to you to set the difficulty on yourself.
If you feel like you want to push high and juice the map with mods and stuff, you may consider learning the mechanics and going through the process of figuring the prices of equipment you're interested in at least.

Nothing wrong with rerolling, especially in such stale league we have now. I leveled to 85+ like 6 chars this league. Learned a lot while doing so.

How to actually start with a direction:
Pick an ability. Go to maxroll.com planner and pick an ability you like.
Then find a youtube videos of someone using it and learn from these. It's a good way to understand what given ability synergizes with and have a template for items to look for as well as passive tree example.
Also, don;t let frustration take over you when you overlook something or just make a mistake that costs you currency. It is fine as long as you're learning something from it. We all did plenty of costly mistakes when started.

Sounds like you're cooking your own builds which is good to learn stuff but also hard af at the beginning to learn interactions.

If yes you could post your pob here and let us have a look at it.
This is not an easy game when it comes to cook and if a skill perform well during campaign it doesnt necessarily mean it will get better on maps.

You should play all events, focusing on expedition and ignore the rest isnt optimal.
Breaches can be very rewarding, also rituals.
Do not pretend to drop tons of currencies on early maps. (i'd say you're not on t15 yet since you hit a wall and the lack of currencies tells you're on mid maps maybe?)

As for what to sell or what to trash at the very beginning you want to check meta builds and see what stats they aim for then look at prices on market.(trade site/discord/whatever)
Cant pretend to know what to do and ignore how it works at the same time.

For armour pieces and weapons for example everything below level 82 will be replaced at some point so collecting low level stuff and hope to sell it's a waste unless it is very very good.

Hope these bits can help, meanwhile post your pob.

I second this. I'm not a casual player in terms of my whole gaming career. But I am failry novice when it comes to PoE 1 and 2, but my strategy in PoE 2 atlas is basically farm the hardest with mostest that I can survive. I just grab all the drops. Kill and destroy. That's it.
