Trial of the Sekhemas
I still don't understand why make a game this fun and locking asc points behind such horrible gameplay.
Anybody knows if devs actually talked about the trials recently and their intents/vision about those? Such a clear break from the main game loop, which is not a bad idea in principle but having to constantly worry about not getting a bs hit from nowhere because there's clutter on screen or latency and stuttering scams you over is such a pain and ruins the whole experience because you want/need to complete these trials because you want to complete your ascendency. You jump from clearing maps which is absolute fun and chill to tense, unfavorable rngs most of the time and you are left with quite a lot of time invested with absolute no rewards when you fail. Failure feels somehow less agreeable in those trials because you feel like you get scammed. If you fail on a boss you learn to get good but the whole progression before a boss room is a prayer to not get scammed. I don't even know how melee players can take this. Anybody here to change my mind or share what are the lastest dev thoughts on this? Dernier bump le 1 juil. 2025 à 07:47:58

I think the idea here was to have two trials.
One for bulky melee builds and one for agile ranged builds. Unfortunately the game communicates you should be good in both trials. Also questionable choice that ranged still works better in the chaos trial. I have no idea why GGG thinks melee in this game should not do more damage for far greater risk. | |
" There will be at least one more ascendancy trial added. Possibly two. So there will be a bunch of options. You just won't be able to do the other trials until later in the campaign. |
