[Controller] Why are keybinds between PoE 1 & PoE 2 Different?
Hey everyone,
I'm playing both PoE 1 and the PoE 2 using a Microsoft Xbox controller, and I've noticed that some of the base keybinds differ between the two games. For example, actions like "Move to Stash", "Discard Item", and "Identify Item" seem to be mapped to different buttons which is very disorienting and frustrating when switching between the two games as these actions are performed at a high frequency during play sessions. Here's a quick comparison for [Scroll of Wisdom]: PoE 1: X: Discard / Use Scroll of Wisdom Y: Move Item & Stash A: Use & 1x Use B: Unstack PoE 2: X: Use Scroll of Wisdom Y: Discard Item & Stash A: 1x Use Hold A: Unstack B: Close Inventory Does anyone know the rationale behind this? I prefer playing on controller, but I would be lying if I didn't admit I am scratching my head and getting irritated by it. Bouncing between both titles for a consistent user experience should be a reasonable expectation in my opinion. Also, controller and KBM hotswapping when?! I wonder the same thing. Poe2 controller layout is standard and pretty much perfect due to this.
Poe1 controller layout is the sole reason I can't play poe1, I would love to try it. I tried it until lvl 40 but the controller layout was so absolutely unnatural and odd that I couldn't keep doing it. I am not sure why it is so weird compared to any other game on controller it's the only one where it doesn't make sense. Like going back not being B etc just doesn't make sense |
