Rested Experience (XP) - Rewards You To Return Back To PoE2 After Long Break
This might be an MMO feature, but GGG should add Rested XP. When you log out in a rested area (e.g. town/hideout), your character begins to accumulate rested XP. Rested XP accumulates at a rate of 5% of the total XP needed for next level every 8 hours, up to a maximum cap. When your character is rested, you gain 200% experience from killing monsters until the rested XP pool is depleted.
This mechanic would be designed to reward you for returning back to PoE2 after an extended break. It also gives you the benefit when you’re offline for players who can’t play everyday. It increases some sense of roleplaying as well by incorporating the concept of characters sleeping. Finally, it provides you more incentive to run alts and helps mitigate XP loss upon death. I think adding this mechanic would help return players to PoE2.

The diminishing and returns of this feature would be astronomic. GGG never give something without taking something as their gameplay design.
I like this suggestion, but the implies of it lead me really anxious as GGG will counter-measure this with a huge diminishing. "It increases some sense of role-playing as well by incorporating the concept of characters sleeping." That's why developers will implement something like "Morning cursed", temporal chains (80%) + enfeeble for us. And ? well the eleventh (++) floor of Chaos challenge will be implemented to allow us the grab the soul core of coffee. (2% of recovery time, per foots walked and gain 1% recovery bonus for unique monsters slain (only these with two modifiers of course ;)). Seriously, I love this idea but the whole challenge of these would be : How can GGG would be able to implement this without twisting the base gameplay described as "demanding" and "challenging" ? On this other side, us the game players can also request them "challenging" and "demanding" features. 600k players at launch day, it is not nothing. The player panel is huge and the way of playing this game should be the same, not representative of only one core mechanic, but some mechanics representative of the way we want to play it and with GGG's rules defining boundaries of the play set. I saw during theses 6 month, role players, theory crafters, speed-runners, build makers, skills tree specialists (divinators, vindicators too). All are representation of the ways of enjoying and playing the game. Regarding to this and also as a bottle launched to the sea : Hey GGG ! :) unleash the game and your gameplay conception creativity ! Dernière édition par Hexmxm#0804, le 30 juin 2025 à 12:30:24

" People aren't going to return with or without rested xp until they fix the game. Poe1 peeps mostly all went ba k to poe1. All the people that left d4 to come to poe2 are mostly all back to d4. At this point they would need some major changes and fixes to get even a fraction of people back. Game loyalty is long dead. Usually when people leave a game for longer than a week they will uninstall it to get disc space back. It takes a lot for them to re-download that game again. |

" Reason people are going back to D4 is new Season 9 starts tomorrow, July 1st. I'm sure many will return to PoE2 when we get new Content Patch 0.3.0. The game is in EA and needs more time to cook, but Rested XP would be a nice feature for players returning to the game after long break. " To stay true to their vision, GGG could implement Rested XP, but would only start to accumulate after 24 or even 48 hours. This mechanic would not benefit blasters, but more of the casual audience. This wouldn't impact people that play everyday or every other day, but rather people that tend to leave for a few weeks at a time or longer.
