Eruptor mercenary causing PC crash

The Eruptor mercenary causes my GPU and my whole PC to freeze and crash instantly after. This mainly happens when using him, but it also happened while fighting him.

The issue is very similar to my previous crashes playing PoE2 and frequently (~50% chance) crashing on character dying there. Some expensive shader or particle effect is probably causing this.

Please take a look into this, as it's much more annoying and disruptive than a simple freeze or game-crash (I have to manually restart PC). My graphics card is an AMD Vega 56.
