Curses like temp chains etc on waystones

This was a nice change in the 0.2.1 patch notes: Endgame Waystone modifiers that applied curses to the area now instead periodically cast the respective curse on ground targeted areas, the same as the player casted skills.

However temporal chains now feel even worse if you get hit by the curse.

You buffed the temporal chains debuff to be 40% slow for 20 seconds if you get hit by the curse. That is way too high GGG.. It make your character fight in super slow motion.

Movement speed in the game is fine, but every debuff that slows you down to a crawl makes it feel bad. If you get hit by the temporal chains curse and you meet a monster with temporal bubble as well, you basically cannot move or use any abilities.

If you character didn't get slowed down so much by all the different slow debuffs the movespeed in the game wouldn't be a problem.

They should revert it. The constant ground casting just adds another layer of terrain clutter
I think the change of it not being a permanent debuff is a good change, but they need to reduce the amount of slow you get when it hits you and they need to reduce how often it casts on the ground.

If it doesn't spam as often and doesn't slow you down as much if you get hit it will be a lot better than having perma temp chains etc.

The best option would be to remove it permanently but we know that they won't do that, so we can only hope that they tone down the amount of slow and frequncy of the ground casting
I would rather the Curse be constant and it not add another continual task for the game to render. Its already an unoptimized mess and this recent change made the maps that had area curses a lagfest.

Wanderlust boots resolves the Temporal Chains (and Chilled Ground) issue. Rune/Gear swapping permitted a workaround for -15% Elemental. Now that penalty is doubled. Map Curses were far more bearable before this recent change.

It's also a nerf to minions because they weren't affected by the old map curses. I could try use Direct Minions to move them out of the curse, but it feels like the curses are spammed when I'm in combat. I also play on controller, which makes using Direct Minions very difficult.

Please don't leave it like this, GGG. :(

Yeah it's hilarious because map mod curses never affected minions in PoE1, but here they are now, likely unintentional. They probably just literally forgot about the minion interaction. As a fellow minion enjoyer using a gamepad, it's just going to be an annoyance and I won't even bother to try to herd them around.
i really really hate this change as well. Now if i run these maps i just have multiple moments of "ugh god damnit" during the map that werent there before. it isnt fun, it isnt a fun skill check, it just sucks. Id rather have the permanent ones that werent as bad.

Agreed, this needs to be reverted. I literally just tp back to hideout and come back in to get rid of it.

It's more of a waste of the player's time than adding to meaningful combat.

If the temporal chains were weaker such that it was still playable while being cursed, that would be another thing. But it's literally unplayable so I just tp home and jump back in.
All ground effects should be curses or debuffs.
No Damage.

Should last as long as the player is standing in it.
MObs that explode should explode curses and debuffs unless they are the
Highly Telegraphed fat boys ..they are done right.

You kill a mob it explodes a temporal chains puddle on death.
The other mob exploded with a fire debuff.
Fat boy explodes and one shots you....
Righteous death!!!!

Fat boys tend to run with mobs that explode a debuff to fire on death.
Poison cloud and fire floor mobs tend to run with temporal chain exploders.

mob composition to counter player power.

But as it is now...
Naw .. its BS ... things you cant see exploding for one shots... way better for the player to see death arriving and panic to avoid it than just be surprised it occured
