possible bug with two blood mages blood remnants interacting

While I was leeching off of another blood mage (I was using bloody spear, they were some spark build) I noticed that I was at 4k life out of 2k max life even though I was dealing no damage and was seeing no blood remnants. Is it posable that 2 blood mages in a party won't see the other remnants but can still collect them?
