Playing with a bit of frustration...

I know many people complain about the excessive XP loss during endgame. I myself am having problems trying to climb up to level 86 with a lightning spear build. I have been using this youtube build in the hopes to acquire better gear for some other builds that I am trying. So obviously lightning spear is the way to go for a beginner player like myself. However, this is not the build that I would enjoy to play this game or its approach.

I know a lot of people would say 'you just need to get better'. One needs to understand that not every beginner player will play like an elite, ex poe1 veteran. This is the quandary that we are experiencing now. By Steam stats, it shows a significant drop in players. By my observation, it looks like nearly a 95% decline from a game that has been praised from its predecessor. There has to be an enjoyable balance here to regain such a loss of players. One should consider, do we maintain a game so difficult and cater to a mere 5% elite youtubers or try to gain back so much that we have lost? Even if it means bringing us some mega buffs here and there...

I really like this game as its visuals, sound, music and campaign are amazing. I was enjoying this prior to the DOTH .02 patch. I know that this is early access, however, the foundation of what was in POE1 should basically be here. Just the other acts, characters and vast items to arrive when it becomes final. It just seems strange that so many people are being turned off by how difficult it is and how their preferred build characters feels nerfed and GGG does not appear to notice this. It seems like they just keep throwing more items at us without the significant buffs.

I'm gonna keep playing from time to time, but that initial enjoyment when I first purchased this is slowly diminishing.

So what is your complaint? What part of the game is too hard? And are you upset that lightning spear seems to be the only playable build right now and it's not fun to you?

I will say that LS is clearly overtuned. It does seem like it would be difficult to start another class at this point in the league (stuff is overpriced). There are other classes that do just fine, but LS is basically as simple as: get a tangletongue, win the game.
