map empty after dying to a boss

I'm doing the Crimson Shores lvl 80 and I died to the map boss once. On my second attempt the map boss reappeared and I took revenge with my own hands :) However, map layout is different (like a new instance) map is hidden again, no mops and no content anymore. This is not a bug and is intended. The first time you enter a boss arena it was displayed in a pop up. Unless you disabled those. But the boss should be last on your list for this weird condition. Honestly it boggles my mind too.

" Even if you die on the map BEFORE fighting the boss, if you walked past the checkpoint, it will wipe the map... It is a stupid mechanic, both wiping after dying to the boss, and wiping if you walked past the boss checkpoint then dying... Let's work together to make this world a better place :)

I really can't imagine that GGG actually intends for a map to be wiped after dying to a boss. I can see it being an unintended effect of the way that resetting bosses works, but specifically chosing to wipe the map after dying? Why? What is the intent here? If it's not intentional, change it.
