Why is endgame "ecoNOmy" is like an mmorpg, but fundamentally its a solo game with coop option?

Yeah... its another rant of droprates, progress and probabilities.

Theres plenty of topic about campaign felt good. You had progress, you died, somewhat could gear up, or instantly spotted the lack of stats.

Currencies are obtainable (however lot of people opted themselves out from disenchanting, giving them unintentional hard mode)

You could just turn your items rare because 1-3 stat that boosts you yeeted your character performance.
Not to mention NPC-s offered an... wouldn't say upgrade, but your outdated gear had chance to be replaced -> turned to rare.


And suddenly... endgame...
You MUST need 5 out of 7 mods on items to be worthy to be replaced.
Did anyone ever checked the probabilities? Any weapon drop is hot garbage unless it has:
- fix phys dmg
- % phys damage
- lightning
- leech
- +skill level
- accuracy

I hope I have not depleted my real life lottery luckpoints for a drop like that. D:
Oh yeah... late endgame they MUST be high tier with upper values too... :D Ive seen 2 divines so far in 1 month...

The loot that should narrow down the pool of RNG is extremely rare. In 1 month of casual play I have like a dozen of omens that alters the RNG chances.
Numbers are possibly different for those who make a ritual farm build, but this is the other issue.

Most people hit a brick wall, and they arent thought how the game should feel. I am writing here, admit I am clueless, and try to do my research.
Many players wont take the effort of reading essays of edngame probabilities.
And it contradicts because "meaningful" endgame is actually outside fighting the enemies.

Players lose XP.
There 2 solutions: 2 omens that focus on death.
One is the "oh-sh*t" omen that heals you up (that wont trigger if the enemy gives you so much damage that you never see "low health".
The other reduces XP lost by 75%

Both are a chance to get.
So you have RNG determined to get a ritual map
RNG to see these omens
RNG to get tablet
RNG to see a tower to put the tablet in...

But you wont do omens, because nothing teaches a new player that there's stuff like that. The first time you see this can be late into the game. Like
"oh... that would be better to knew this earlier"

So what player do?
Delirium and Breeches. Both of them give shards.
You need 300 of them, but its still a progress.
Until you get completely burned out, because high chance your first encounter you will just see the respawn screen.

Ill be honest. I absolutely lost motivation to do a second simulacrum.
Even making my keystones delirius I don't feel my gear upgraded to a level to see success chance.

Is breech is the same (around 240 shards atm)?
Because you had to grind 300 of those, each map dropping 3-6 shards. Thats a HUNDRED map!
At least give us a consolidation prise, but all a newbie get is their arses kicked like a football.

So you want gear:
We have expedition. After 1 month I had a SINGLE logbook.
I tried it, beat the map... and Ill be honest... I went through youtube videos why this supposed to be good for me.
I experienced a pretty meh drop. So the chance of finding a logbook single player is low.
Appearently if you farm it, its quite good.

But were back to the point:
as if the economy is for mmorpg.
Seeing a single logbook in a month, its unlikely I will "farm" it.

And the recombinator... 0.2-5% chance to combint TWO mods?!
My first paragraph was about we MUST need 5/7
So I need RNG to find two good items
RNG to get expedition even on map
RNG to get the matching currency drop
RNG to see success in recombining the item
RNG to get good further mods.
Did we mentioned the VAAL fun RNG that also can brick your item? :D

I have more RNG by getting omens
Another layer of RNG to get fracturing RNG runs.
Because in a month of play (yes... I will repeat this a few more time) I cleansed the corruption every time and cleared maps.
I only seen a SINGLE fracturing orb!
Only ONE time the game gave me that cleansed boss. I have no idea if I was even lucky? I am thinking does that boss even guarantees fracturing orb? Or out of like 50 cleansed map I can have a 2% chance to get the cleansed boss that give me a 2% chance of dropping a fracturing orb that have a 1/7 chance to locking my desired mod that I have 0.5% chance to chaos orb to a desired outcome...

Man... even XZibit starts to stutter now...

This gives me a nostalgia of early millennial MMORPG games where the odds of beating these low numbers are trading, but the same time the top items were obtrainable for guilds.

Oh... I did not even mentioned gems.
I play warrior, and I am drowning in non-useful slot stuff. I have plenty of blue and green gems
Not to mention that even RUBY-s often give me warcry, bleed, ignite, totem...
Yeah... you can build many type of warriors, but you only build ONE type...

But gem slots are limited, so your gem drop chances are also limited.
You can have 7 or 8 gem slots normally.
So the choice of putting gems in is... well... non-existent.
Weapon you will put extra weapon damage in.
Depends on your build, but for a thorn warrior like me, body armor and shield WILL have + def stat. No option either.
So in my case Iron rune is a MUST for 3 slots. Now items are sitting in the stash because I don't have Iron runes...

Rest of them is resistances, once capped possibly STR.
Maybe...MAYBE... I will flavour the thought of putting Lightning thorn gem. That... I seen a single one so far... XD IN ONE MONTH!

And I didn't even started to get breech ring...
not bothered to do chaos temple runs for soul cores either

So droprates and progress are like an mmogame
But trading is limited and even hindered.

Even in ragnarok online and lineage2 (boi, these are some ancient mmorpgs) at least you could just create a merchant alt where you set up price, let them sit anywhere with a WTB shop window that traded until resources were depleted.

Ah yeah... I just remembered that at some point players need to learn to corrupt their items and by that move they will lock it. No modifications allowed.

At least let annulment orbs (that I also seen a single drop so far) remove corruption so I can spin the RNG again.
